Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 October 2026

1. Who we are

KnowThinkLead ("the Service", "we", "us") is a set of web-based alignment tools for school leaders and organisations, operated by Kelvin Thomas Lamb, a South African sole proprietor trading as KTL Consulting. KTL Consulting owns and provides KnowThinkLead and the Epistemic Alignment Audit. You can reach us at contact@knowthinklead.com.

2. The service

The Service provides the Epistemic Alignment Audit, the practice profile, live facilitated sessions, an alignment dashboard and a new-hire alignment tool, together with reference material. We may improve, add, or retire features over time; where a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell subscribers in advance.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use the dashboard and to host live sessions; participants can respond without one. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity under your account, and for having a proper basis to invite participants and collect their responses. Organisation-wide and team arrangements are available by agreement.

4. Paid plans and billing

Where a part of the Service is offered as a paid plan, it is billed as shown at the point of purchase. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: Paddle provides customer service for purchases, handles returns, and collects and remits applicable taxes on our behalf. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Consulting and facilitation agreed directly with KTL Consulting are governed by that agreement.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the session details, statements, responses, and other material you and your participants create in the Service. You grant us the limited licence needed to store, process, and display that content in order to run the Service for you. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to advertise to anyone.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, disrupting its operation, reselling access without an agreement with us, uploading unlawful material, or infringing the intellectual property of others. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, the Epistemic Alignment Audit framework and question banks as expressed in the product, and its reference content, belongs to us or our licensors. Frameworks and standards referenced in the Service remain the property of their respective publishers; the Service paraphrases rather than reproduces them and attributes their sources. KnowThinkLead is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) or any concept-based curriculum training provider; framework names are used only to describe compatibility.

8. Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep the Service available and dependable, but it is provided "as is" and we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service is a diagnostic aid that supports professional judgement; it does not replace it and is not an evaluation of any individual. You remain responsible for your own leadership, staffing, and organisational decisions.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the Service and cancel any subscription at any time. On request, we will delete your account and its content as described in our privacy policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify account holders by email or in the product before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable consumer rights you hold in your country of residence.
